Release DC4.0.1 (New DreamCalc 4)
DC4 now supports Windows Vista and gives DreamCalc a new rugged look. Graphing has been substantially improved in DC4 and you can now "drag-size" the main window. Other new features include an optional row of base-N
keys, access to the full range math functions in base-N mode, and the ability to annotate the Paper Roll.
Major New Interface Features
- DreamCalc now supports Windows Vista.
- A new look and new range of skins.
- Now possible to resize the main window by dragging it.
- The full range of math functions are now accessible in base-N mode.
- New base-N keys (optional).
- You can now edit the Paper Roll with your own annotations.
- Statistical calculations can now be performed directly from the list window.
- Discounted cashflow calculations can also be performed form the list window in the Professional Edition.
- The User Guide has received a lot of attention, and has been stripped of its previous verbosity.
Major New Graphing Features
- DreamCalc Graphing has been substantially improved. Changes include...
- The concept of "Graph Variants" has gone--instead there is a new "Axes" menu option which should be much clearer.
- New cursor coordinate feedback feature, including the ability to trace curves with the cursor.
- Polar charts have been re-worked and a polar grid is now shown.
- Logarithmic plots have been re-worked and now shows a decent logarithmic grid.
- Chart zooming improved, and new animated zoom option added.
- Now possible to plot up to 2000 points. Data lists also allow 2000 entries.

- Function Grapher now recognises the "t" parametric variable (x and t are mutually exclusive).
- Ability to specify range as part of graphing function input string.
- The Pie Chart has been removed due to its rather limited value. (If I'm inundated with requests to re-instate it, I'll consider doing so, but I doubt many people will miss it.)
Other Changes
- Backspace key behavior improved.
- New RMSE function added to regression modes.
- New DLHRS function added to MISC key.
- MOD base-N function renamed to REM (remainder) as this is strictly correct behaviour, and..
- New (additional) MOD function added. Note that it's behavior is subtly different to base-N REM.
- New "Natural Constant" group added to the Insert menu.
- If you don't have the additional base-N key view selected, then Base-N logic functions must now be accessed from the "LOGIC" key.
- The COST,SELL & MAR% keys replaced on scientific interface with MOD, LCM & GCD. (COST, SELL & MAR% are still available in Simple Calculator view.)
- The ΔTIME function removed, as I believe few people used this. Replaced with "√2", "√3", and "ln2" constants.
- CLMEM moved to DEL key in order to keep the AC key clear of other functionality.
- UNDO key removed (was unnecessary), but CTRL-Z keyboard short-cut still active.
- Some keyboard short-cuts changed.
- Options window has more options and has been re-organized. Graphing preview added.
- No-longer supporting Windows 95, 98 & ME (see Support Page FAQs).
